Best Lysine Rich Foods To Include In Your Diet

Lysine is one type of amino acid known to be composed of protein mostly. This is considered to be a very important nutrient for humans as well as vertebrate animals. One important trivia about lysine is that the body is unable to produce it therefore it must be taken in through foods or supplements.

In addition to it being a basic nutritional need, it also plays a vital role in the prevention and treatment of herpes infections and cold sore. This has also been suggested to be beneficial in treating osteoporosis since it increases the intestinal absorption of calcium. Studies also claim that it is effective in increasing the size of your muscles, decreasing glucose and stabilizing anxiety. In some cases even, it is used as an antioxidant and detoxifier for those who have taken heroin. This can also be beneficial in treating and alleviating body aches, headaches, and other types of pain. However, before using it for medicinal purposes, you are advised to consult your doctor first.

In cases where in you are to take lysine as a supplement or pill, make sure you do not exceed 3 grams per day.   • Turkey and Chicken. These two are rich in lysine amino acids especially their wings and breast. Chicken breast, turkey breast, turkey drumsticks, fat – feet ground turkey, chicken wing, chicken drumsticks, and turkey wings are the best producers of lysine.
  • May it be bacon, pork tenderloin, ground pork, pork sirloin, ham, and spare ribs; they are all rich in lysine amino acids.
  • Soya Foods. This is good news for vegetarians who want to eat lysine rich foods but are restricted due to their kind of diet. Soya products that are rich in lysine are dried frozen tofu, soy flour, soy chips, fried tofu, natto, boiled soybeans and tempeh.
  • Believe it or not they are also rich in lysine. Several kinds like salmon, snapper, mackerel, halibut, Pollock, sea bass, haddock, and cod are the ones with the richest lysine.
