The Joint Commission has launched a new version of their website located at jointcommission.org.  The new site has updated features, including rss feeds and a blog.

The Joint Commission released a white paper today that proposes major changes in the principles and actions that should be taken to create the 'hospital of the future'.  The paper, Health Care at the Crossroads: Guiding Principles for the Development of the Hospital of the Future, offers recommendations in five core areas of hospital development.

The Joint Commission released its National Patient Safety Goals for 2009.  New regulations targeting the spread of infections have been included.
